Tabernil Gentamicina

Tabernil gentamicina

Description

Gentamicine anti-diarrhoeic
Oral solution

COMPOSITION:
Gentamycin (sulphate) 10 mg
Excipient q.s. 1 ml.

PROPERTIES:
TABERNIL GENTAMICINA oral solution contains gentamycin, a bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic, whose antibacterial action derives from its action on the 3OS subunit of the ribosomes, preventing protein synthesis. It specifically enables the initiation phase, altering the order of the RNA messenger and causing the incorrect reading of the genetic code by the RNA transfer. It also alters the permeability of the bacterial membrane.

It is active against grampositive and gramnegative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomona aeruginosa, Enterobacteria, Salmonella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus.
Anaerobic microorganisms are resistant.
It is not absorbed orally or inactivated in the digestive gut.

INDICATIONS:
Treatment of enteritis (diarrhoea) caused by microorganisms sensitive to gentamycin.

TARGET SPECIES: Canaries and ornamental birds in general (parakeets, goldfinches, doves, etc.).

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Add TABERNIL GENTAMICINA to the drinking water at the dose of 5 ml (50 mg of base gentamycine)/litre, equivalent to 4 drops/40 ml of water, during 3-5 consecutive days. In birds that do not drink due to illness, administer medicated water directly into their mouth, two to three times a day.
Prepare fresh treated water every day.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals with hypersensibility records to the antibiotic.

SECONDARY EFFECTS: None were registered at the indicated doses.

INTERACTIONS: Do not administer with other aminoglycosides antibiotics.

Commercial presentation: 20 ml bottles.
